fine art paper vs. photo paper: the difference

Excerpt from the website of Canson: "Fine art printing is the term often used to refer to professional photo prints on very high-quality paper. This designation meets certain quality criteria, particularly regarding the paper, sought after by many photographers and printers.

The difference between fine art paper and normal photo paper lies in the composition of the paper itself. Indeed, natural fibers (cotton or alpha cellulose most of the time) must be included in the composition of fine art paper. The paper is not artificially bleached with chlorine, which guarantees the durability of the photos over time. A significant advantage for art photography!

Normal photo paper will meet the needs of individuals for printing photos viewed occasionally, while fine art paper will ensure a beautiful enhancement of the image and good durability over the long term.

Fine art paper: a print made to last

Fine art paper is intended for high-end photo printing, and its quality for receiving inks and pigments must be optimal. The composition of the surface layer must allow for good ink retention over time while having a neutral pH to ensure the paper withstands well over time.

Preparation of your file

If possible, please provide a JPG file of the highest possible resolution, or better yet, a TIFF file (uncompressed) via email or in person on a USB stick. The Adobe RGB color profile should be prioritized, or the sRGB.
